The Richmond location (Hardywood’s original location) is located just across the Boulevard from Scott’s Addition offering multiple taprooms, an exterior garage bar and outdoor beer garden (offering corn hole and bocce ball for your entertainment). Hardywood came to fruition through a childhood friendship and a shared passion/love of homebrewing and was the second craft brewery in the Richmond area. The original brewhouse and taproom was nothing but a vacant warehouse. After years and years of hard work, that vacant warehouse has turned into a 20-barrel brewhouse and taproom along with a 3.5-barrel pilot brewery and taproom in Charlottesville, VA and a massive 60-barrel brewhouse in the West Creek area of Richmond (bordering Goochland County). You can often find an eclectic mix of live music as well as community events that are free and open to the public (all ages are welcome). Hardywood beers are brewed with local ingredients and renewable energy; they were the first brewery in Virginia powered entirely by renewable energy, including solar, biomass and wind. Through these efforts, Hardywood was named “Virginia Green Brewery Of The Year” in 2015. They also work with local farms to reuse their spent grain as compost and feed. You can typically find at LEAST one or two food trucks at this location on the weekends. Hardywood has a number of massively popular flagship beers ranging from stouts to double IPA’s to lagers. Hardywood’s West Creek location sits on 24 acres overlooking Tuckahoe Creek and bodes a taproom with a built-in stage, a private event space with a conference room, an outdoor patio and beer garden, and a food truck plaza. This truly is a beautiful location and has plenty of outdoor space for the whole family to enjoy.
