Isley Brewing Company is a Micro Craft brewery and tasting room in Scott’s Addition. Isley was actually the first craft brewery to open in Scott’s Addition back in 2013 so they really set the scene in terms of what was to come for the bustling area that Scott’s Addition is today (there are now over 13 breweries, cideries, meaderies and distilleries in this district). In their tasting room, you can sample flights, grab some cans to-go, and get a growler filled with your favorite brew. Isley offers amazing indoor space with board games, TVs (you rarely find TV’s in breweries so it’s the perfect place to watch the big games!), weekly trivia, live music, and karaoke. There is also an urban patio area (with a brand new raised deck) featuring a variety of outdoor games. If the Richmond Flying Squirrels are playing a home game, the back patio is a great spot to catch some fireworks! Isley typically has one food truck serving up some good eats for you to enjoy while you’re there. Isley was named by USA Today as one of the top 50 brewery destinations in the WORLD so be sure to add them to your next brewery outing list. You can check them out on our Scott’s Addition route (Saturday afternoon and evening rides) and try their “Choosy Mother” Peanut Butter Porter or their “Blueberry Plain Jane” Belgian White Ale. Have a special occasion coming up? Isley is a great option if you are looking to book a private event with us!

Famous for their Choosy Mother Peanut Butter Porter, this porter is very light with strong but not overpowering peanut butter flavor that allows the stout base to come through on the end. The Czech Pilsner is very well done. Crisp, clean, slightly sweet; all the things a Czech Pilsner should be. The Black Currant Sour Ale is a sour ale for sure with dark berry and grape flavors. However, unlike other sours these days this one is actually made with berry purée and not syrup. This gives it a more balanced, natural flavor. .

For those that don’t know about my struggle my wife and I walked away from 15 year marriage right before Labor Day weekend. It has really taken a total on me considering I thought everything was great and I was working on expanding our livelihood to include the food truck. It has taken me 6 weeks to even to have the courage to even want to cook again which is my passion. Some of y’all have know since day one other haven’t and asked when you see me where we been. I never been good secrets and y’all are my family.
I finally got back on the grill on the tonight with a lot of courage from my kids and close friends. I love you all and the food truck is still in works. Just took a break to pick all my pieces. Love you all. Thanks for being there for us.

Isley Brewing Company | Choosy Mother Peanut Butter Porter | 6.6% ABV: IPAs are great, but it’s also cool to see breweries whose biggest sellers are stouts and porters. Here's one example: Isley's flagship beer is a decadent oatmeal porter brewed with roasted barley, chocolate malts, and enough peanut butter to satisfy any PB lover! This brew was originally intended to be a one-off, but people loved it so much that it has become a permanent fixture in Isley’s taproom. And just last year, they started canning & distributing (+ donating a portion of their sales to amysarmyrva), so now you can enjoy this peanut butter goodness at home 🤗🥜
